If there is one area of confusion in America, it involves health and wellness. We are the only species that can’t seem to figure out how to get, and stay, well. And we are the sickest species on the planet.
One of the biggest reasons so many people struggle is because of the ongoing shift in information that we are fed. The medical community has wavered on so many health topics that we can no longer trust what they tell us. We were told that fat causes heart disease and obesity, which spawned the fat-free revolution. It was poor information, fueled by corporate influence and greed, and led to more heart disease and obesity.
The food pyramid, which we now know was heavily influenced by the food industry, was a complete disaster. They told us that our diet should be primarily made up of the “bread, cereal, rice, and pasta” group, advising 6-11 servings from this group daily. Yikes! I wonder how that led to skyrocketing obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and all other chronic illnesses. Duh!
They told us eggs were bad for us… oops… now they’re good for us. Butter is bad, margarine is better… oops… margarine is bad, butter is better. Vioxx is a miracle drug… oops… it causes heart attacks and kills people. Fen-Phen, we were told, was another miracle drug and would end obesity… oops… it caused pulmonary hypertension, heart valve damage, and killed people. (They paid over $13 billion in legal damages.)
Opiates were falsely presented as and sold as a cure for pain, and we were told they were proven safe. Wrong! We were told the COVID vaccine would prevent us from getting COVID and prevent us from spreading it to others. False! They said that once we decoded the human genome, we’d cure cancer (and all other diseases)… oops… turns out our genes are responsible for only less than 5% of all cancers.
And our medical system continues to make false promises, make huge mistakes, and lead us down a path of sickness, obesity, depression, and despair.
You must be getting exhausted from the ever-changing advice and direction of your medical doctors and other so-called experts. What you were told was good for you, now is bad. What once was a medical breakthrough causes more harm than good. I often wonder if medical doctors see the mistakes they have made, realize that they have failed us greatly, and realize that their story keeps changing.
Here is the thing… I have been saying the same thing and telling the same story from the first day I opened my practice. For 27 years, my story has never changed. Why? Because it is rooted in truth, common sense, and actual science. I don’t treat symptoms; I address the cause. I don’t try to outsmart the body; I work with it. I am not influenced by Big Pharma and their lies. I don’t continue doing the same things if the outcomes are not positive. And I know that true wellness, health, and healing is the result of our lifestyle and environment.
The body is a self-regulating, self-healing, self-adapting wonder. When you give the body what it needs, and get rid of what is bad for it, health goes up, and sickness goes down. Our hunter-gatherer ancestors did not struggle with chronic illness, which is our biggest killer right now. They did not have obesity, diabetes, or heart disease, and cancers were very rare. Our success comes from modeling their success. Our health is dictated by what we eat, how much we move, the quality of our sleep, the quality of our relationships, and how we interact with the world around us.
I have been writing these articles for over twenty years. I try to get better at conveying the story in ways that are relatable and implementable… but the story never changes. I try to help make the information resonate with you, help you see a better way to live, and help shape your philosophy and paradigm so that you can navigate the nonsense that keeps getting shoved down our throats. How I tell the story changes week to week, but the story is the story.
Imagine a pastor of a church changing “the story” every year or so. You would stop attending that church. Why? Because you wouldn’t know what to believe. A great pastor continues to creatively tell the story, but the story itself never changes.
The truth is the truth. I don’t seek to be right; I seek the truth. The truth is that healing comes from the inside out, that sickness is not due to a lack of pills, that the current medical model has failed us miserably, and that the most impactful things you can do to get well is eat, move, think, and interact congruently with how our ancestors lived.
Be wary of anyone who keeps changing their story. I love that I have been telling the same story for so long.
