1. Something very cool I saw last week…
We were driving through Richfield, Ohio, last Friday, and I saw that on many of the telephone poles were tribute banners recognizing veterans from Richfield. It had their name, their photo, and some had their rank and years that they served. Some were older, and some were more recent. I love when our service members and veterans are recognized… and thought it super cool to recognize these heroes in their own hometown. A very personal touch. Love it! Here are a few of the banners we passed…
2. Interesting article I read this week…
I have always heard older folks say that time goes faster as you age. Well… I can say that I feel like time is flying. If they had a news story tonight that scientists have discovered that the Earth is spinning faster and that time is actually going faster, I would believe it. I’ve heard several theories on why time does appear to go faster as we age, but an article I read this week summed it up really well. It was written by a retired neurosurgeon named Brian Hoeflinger, M.D. I recommend reading it. It’s about a 6-minute read… and worth it! Basically, the brain compresses time. Routine days and activities are more easily and readily compressible. New, challenging, and exciting activities and ventures get registered and give a longer sense of time. So, as we age, and life becomes more routine, it feels like it goes faster. The key… change up your routine, try new hobbies, and engage in challenging activities. 3. Quotes I read, or re-read, this week that got me thinking…

“If I must fall, may it be from a great height.” – Rainer Maria Rilke
“Concentrate on a single goal, a single task, and beat it into submission.” – Robert Greene
