1. Cool acts I saw this week…
I saw several cool and uplifting acts of kindness this week. Two were tied to Halloween. First, at the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Pittsburg, the window cleaners dressed up like superheroes and repelled down the building washing the windows. I thought it was a phenomenal idea. It looked super cool, and the kids inside LOVED it. A second clip was of a boy who was trick-or-treating, came to a candy bucket on a porch and saw that only two pieces of candy were left. He takes one of them and leaves. He then tells his dad to wait, runs back up to the porch, and puts a couple handfuls of his own candy into that bucket. Both of these were great to see. Both should move you a bit. See the clips below…
2. Observation I made and opinion I’m sharing this week…
No matter what happened in this week’s election, no matter who got elected or didn’t, or if you are happy or disappointed with the results, the biggest impact that will occur in your life over the next few years will depend on the decisions YOU make, the activities YOU engage in, and the work that YOU do. You have so much more control over your success, your happiness, your safety, and the quality of your life than you realize. DO NOT let outside factors paralyze you or prevent you from creating the life you want and deserve. And do not think that any results in any election are going to solve all of your problems and greatly affect your success. That is all on you. No matter who is in power, who gets elected, or what party wins or loses, how you think it will directly affect your life may be VERY different from how it will ACTUALLY affect your life. 3. Special gift I was given this week…
Having been in practice for 29 years, and having cared for thousands of patients, I have been blessed to receive many cards and gifts. This week, I was given a gift that was cross-stitched with words and phrases relating to the care we provide in our office, along with my name and the name of our practice. The way it was designed, the colors used, and the words chosen make it very special and unique. Thank you, Patti Simpson, for taking the time to make this for me. I appreciate all the gifts I have been given over the years and feel blessed to be able to do what I do. I sincerely appreciate the gratitude I get from all of my patients. See a pic of Patti’s work of art below…
