1. Wellness reminder…
When I am working hard at something and not seeing the results I expect, there are two things I usually do. First, I make sure that I am not doing the wrong things. Second, I think about bamboo. Watch my quick, 3-minute video below about bamboo… and why it is something I think about OFTEN.
2. Wellness quote…
“Information is not transformation.”
-Ian Morgan Cron
I came across a small piece of paper this morning with this quote scribbled on it. I don’t know when I wrote it down and can’t remember when I read or heard it, but IT IS GOOD! We can read the books, listen to the podcasts, follow the blogs, and go to the seminars, but no matter how much we know, nothing changes until we take action. So… you know enough… now implement that knowledge and information.
3. Wellness book…
Diet and exercise are the big two when it comes to health and wellness. But how we think, how we behave, and how we interact in this world are often undermined and overlooked. A book I just read was just what I needed. Meditations for Mortals, by Oliver Burkeman, is a book I am now recommending. It’s well-written, an easy read, and loaded with great nuggets. The subtitle is Four Weeks to Embrace Your Limitations and Make Time for What Counts. It is broken into 28 short lessons and is to be read one lesson each day for 28 days. Lana and I took turns reading out loud to each other each night. Every lesson had value, but several hit me right between the eyes. Burkeman is the author of Four Thousand Weeks, which is another book I have highly recommended and posted about in the past. This is a book I will likely be gifting in the future, as it is very timely and much needed. Here’s a sentence I saw describing the book… “A map for a liberating journey toward a more meaningful life―a journey that begins where we actually find ourselves, not with a fantasy of where we’d like to be.”
