My philosophy on wellness is simple and straightforward. We are humans, and we need to live like humans. We have gotten away from this with our busy, stressful lifestyles and with the state of our current medical system that is primarily focused on symptoms and on medications that only mask our health problems rather than fix them.
The first thing we need to do is to define wellness properly and realize all that it encompasses. Wellness is not about your cholesterol numbers, your blood pressure, your blood sugar, your weight, etc. True wellness starts with the basics of how we eat, move, think, and sleep. But it is not just limited to our physical bodies. Many other aspects of our lives are equally as important such as our love for ourselves and others, the quality of our relationships, our sense of purpose and being a part of a community, and our ability to truly live fully. We need to realize that true wellness is within us. It comes from the inside out. It is the result of giving the body what it needs and eliminating what is bad for it.
The quality of your day-to-day choices on how you eat, move, think, and sleep will directly affect the quality of your health, and consequently, the quality of your life. When the quality of your life improves, your story gets better. Each of us is the author of our own story. My goal as a wellness doctor is to change your beliefs about what your story can look like, then help you create that story — the story of the best version of you living the best life possible.
Are you currently being the BEST version of yourself? If not, I can help you get there!
