1. Amusing image I came across this week…
I’ve posted this before, but I came across it while scrolling through my phone this week, and it made me laugh (it does every time I see it). So, I thought I would share it again… hoping it makes you laugh…
2. Great interview I saw this week…
I watched Adam Sandler on My Next Guest with David Letterman this week, and it was good. I’ve been a long-time fan of Adam Sandler, so it was really good to get to know more about him. And in this interview, I learned A LOT. It’s always eye-opening and intriguing for me to learn more about the personal life of a famous person and to hear about how their career developed. As I listened to Sandler talk about dreaming of being famous, laying out a plan to be a successful comedian and actor, and taking steps to achieve his goals, I was reminded that every successful person you see did not simply fall into that success. I think I just assumed Sandler was a funny guy, got some lucky breaks, and managed to make a career out of it. He worked HARD! It reminded me that anything I want to be good at, anything I want to achieve, or any goal I want to accomplish requires planning and hard work. We can be in awe of others, but if we want to achieve what they have achieved, we have to do the things they did to get there. You can watch that interview and other good ones like it on My Next Guest with David Letterman, which is on Netflix. (Just a heads up… Adam Sandler uses A LOT of foul language.)
3. Quote I love…
“The Chains of Habit Are Too Light To Be Felt Until They Are Too Heavy To Be Broken.”
Warren Buffet has been credited with this quote, and he has said it, but it may not be his own. It’s a strong reminder to pay attention to your habits. They can build you up or tear you down. And bad habits creep up on us, often taking root and causing significant harm before we even know they are part of our daily lives. Take note… pay attention… and catch the bad habits while they are still light and can be broken. (Thanks, Paul C., for sharing that quote with me this week!)
