1. Movie I watched…
A patient recommended the movie, The Railway Man, which is a story described by IMBd like this… “A former British Army officer, who was tortured as a prisoner of war at a Japanese labor camp during World War II, discovers that the man responsible for much of his treatment is still alive and sets out to confront him.” Maybe a “spoiler alert” should be noted here, but it’s a very well done movie about forgiveness. It’s based on a true story. I said to my girlfriend, Lana, that it is amazing what humans are really capable of (referring to our ability to forgive another person under such harsh circumstances). She agreed, and then said “on both ends,” referring to humans’ capability to create such harsh circumstances and atrocities. It’s an emotional movie, with intense and graphic scenes, but left us feeling uplifted. It also reminded me of a Nelson Mandela quote… “Resentment is like drinking poison and then hoping it will kill your enemies.” The power of forgiveness is immense. Holding on to hatred, resentment, and anger absolutely contributes to sickness and disease, and will stifle your life. Who can you forgive? How about today? Here’s the trailer for The Railway Man…
2. Interesting (and entertaining) link someone sent me…
A friend sent me this… 15 Real-Life Easter Eggs That Will Have You Playing “Where’s Waldo?” on a site inspiremore.com. The intro explains what “Easter eggs” are, something I was unaware of. Check it out! It’s interesting, funny, and pretty darn cool. Thanks Laurie F. for sharing!

3. My biggest concern right now…
The word doctor comes from the Latin word for “teacher.” Being in private practice for over 23 years, I have always believed that the best thing I could do for patients is give them as much information as possible, so they could make the best choices possible. If patients did not follow my recommendations, I respected that, and moved on. My job is not to convince, coerce, manipulate, or scare patients. My blog this week was titled, “Censorship… Really?” My BIGGEST concern right now is that people are being denied information. I don’t think this is happening… I KNOW it is. Just be aware that you simply cannot know you are making the best decisions without ALL available information. Read my blog here.
