1. App I am using…
I recently downloaded, and have been using daily, the BobbyApproved app. Bobby Parrish is someone I follow. He’s been posting information on what foods are good and which are bad since 2012. He has more than 15 million followers. He created an app that allows you to simply scan a bar code on a product, and it will instantly tell you if it is Bobby Approved… or not. It also lists the ingredients and highlights the bad ones. It also lists those bad ingredients individually and explains in a few words why they are bad. I find it VERY helpful! And I’ve been surprised by some of the results. It helps A TON with determining if a food is good or bad. Here’s a quick video of me showing that app…
2. Two new products I am using…
Speaking of Bobby Parrish, he has some products under his brand, FlavCity. We are now using two of those products… the protein powder and electrolyte drink mix. His products are made with whole, real-food ingredients, and do not contain any processed ingredients, seed oils, or “natural” flavors. I trust that if Bobby Parrish makes it, then it is going to be a great option. And both the protein powder and electrolyte drink mix taste very good. If interested, go to www.flavcity.com and click SHOP.
3. Movie I watched (and am highly recommending!)…
I love movies about underdogs. I like them even more when they are based on a true story, and I also love the sport of wrestling. Well… the new movie, Unstoppable, has it all. It’s the true story about Anthony Robles, who won a national title for Arizona State. Oh… and he was born with only one leg. The movie chronicles his struggles on and off the mat and shares his heroic journey to the top. What makes it even better is that it stars a friend of ours, Johnni DiJulius, who plays Robles’ archenemy. DiJulius had an incredible high school wrestling career (3-time state champion for Walsh Jesuit High School), wrestled for Ohio State, is all over social media with his base jumping, skydiving, and other amazing stunts, and is just a great human being. This is his big screen debut, and he plays the part perfectly. A HUGE congrats to Johnni! I highly recommend watching this star-studded movie, which you can watch for free on Amazon Prime Video. ***Misogi update…
I made a commitment to do a cold plunge in the lake behind my house every day in January. Well… today is Day 24! I’m posting this update because I’ve gotten A LOT of questions, emails, texts, and even calls about it this past week. YES… I did go in every day. Even Tuesday, when it was -3 degrees out… and Wednesday, when it was a ridiculous -14 degrees out there (that’s WITHOUT the wind chill!). The bubbler can’t keep up with preventing the ice from forming right now, so I have to break the ice with a sledge hammer each day. The only mishap so far was that my hand stuck/froze to the metal handle on the ladder Tuesday while getting out of the water because it was wet. A little damage to the skin on my right hand, but nothing serious. Gardening gloves the past few days have solved that problem. And my hair is usually frozen by the time I get back to the house. Yeeeehaaaa!🥶
