1. Upsetting/confusing/scary (and very pertinent) news that I heard this week…
New data, just released, indicates that the COVID-19 vaccine is causing adverse effects. Utilizing data involving 17 million Medicare beneficiaries, a study published just two days ago, found a 40% increase in heart attack and 50% increase in blood clots. One study showed risk of heart attack went up 84% within one month after the vaccine. And one study showed that “severe” adverse effects are seen in 1 in 800 doses of the vaccine (not 1-2 out of one million as we were told). My personal opinion is that we have waited too long to compile this data, we have sat on data that is pertinent to determining the risk/benefit ratio, and the FDA and the CDC have kept blinders on, dragging their feet in releasing data, and failed us by putting us at unnecessary risk. You can click here to read an article about how FDA Advisory doctors are angry that pertinent data was suppressed by the drug companies when they were making their recommendations to the American public. (See next week’s blog for more details on this super important breaking news.)
2. Wellness activity I am experimenting with…
I am halfway through the audiobook, Trejo: My Life of Crime, Redemption, and Hollywood, the incredible autobiography of actor, Danny Trejo. I will wait until I am done before sharing my thoughts on the book itself, but wanted to share a nugget I pulled from it. A friend of his, in an attempt to help him overcome his bitterness and anger, told him to start each day by singing the first portion of Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah. He said that he thought it was the stupidest thing ever, but tried it, and it worked! So, I am committing to starting each day, for at least the next month, singing Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah. It is IMPOSSIBLE to sing these words and not have a positive shift in your state. Warning…you’ll be singing these words all day long.
“Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay, my, oh my, what a wonderful day! Plenty of sunshine headin’ my way… zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay!
So far, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!
3. Words I love…
Costa Rica is one of my favorite places. A perfect mix of beach relaxation and jungle adventure. Lana and I got married there last June. There are two words that the locals use regularly… Pura Vida! It’s a greeting used to say hello, goodbye, and an answer to the question “How are you?” Pura Vida means pure life or simple life. The Costa Rican people tend to worry less, relax more, and are happier overall. With Pura Vida being used in many contexts, even as a visitor, just hearing those words brings about a pleasant, happy feeling.
Check out the pillow we got for each of our kids for Christmas to remember the wedding, the trip, and incredible Costa Rica.
