Have you ever given some deeper thought on what healing is and where it comes from? There is so much talk about health and healthcare these days, but most of it revolves around medication, surgeries, diagnostic testing, and insurance. Few discussions delve into healing. Where does it come from? How does it happen? Where can you get more of it?
It is critical to understand how healing really happens if you are to ever reach the level of health and optimal living that most people are so desperately searching for. Think about when you cut yourself. What happens? You bleed. Then the blood clots, you form a scab, then new skin, in the form of scar tissue, is created. Most people will wash the injured area and put a bandage on it. Some may use a vitamin E gel or antibiotic cream as well. If the cut is bad enough, stitches might be needed.
So, what does the healing? Is the soap you use to wash the injury? Is it the bandage? Is it the gel or cream? How about the stitches? No, no, no, and no. The healing happens from the inside-out. Your body is what heals that wound.
Our bodies are energetic, full of life force that runs every function within us, including digesting food, making muscle, building bone, and repairing damaged tissue. All healing comes from within. What heals you is YOU!
Think about this… if you cut the skin of a dead person, what happens? NOTHING! They do not bleed, do not form a scab, and definitely do not develop a scar. Why not? They have the skin, the blood, and all the components you use in the healing process. So, why don’t they heal? Because they lack the most critical factor needed for healing… that life force.
If you think this is woo-woo stuff, then you’re missing out. You’re missing a critical component to optimizing health, healing, and function. We have been misled in the area of how to get well. Our health has been hijacked by an industry and way of thinking that benefits from us giving up our health. There is this idea that we aren’t smart enough or capable enough to manage our own health. We think that doctors, hospitals, and science will take care of us and keep us well. Let me ask a simple question… how is that going? NOT WELL!
We have so much science, technology, advanced diagnostic testing, and medicines, yet our state of health is declining at a staggering rate. I am not suggesting that we stop researching and advancing with technology, as there have been many phenomenal breakthroughs, but we need to make sure we remember that healing is an inside-out job. We must remember that God made our bodies to heal, grow, and adapt naturally. That life force within is more powerful than any medical device, tool, or medicine.
The word doctor means teacher, not healer. You are the healer. It is your body. Give it what it needs and get rid of what is bad for it, and it does a pretty good job. Make sure you utilize your doctors and healthcare system for what they’re best for… putting out fires, emergencies, catastrophic events, broken bones, stitches, etc. Handing health over to the current health care system is like handing your keys to someone who’s been drinking too much and telling them to drive.
Use the doctors. Use the hospitals. Use the advanced testing and diagnostic tools. Even use medicine and have surgeries when necessary. But never, ever, ever place more faith in any of those things than you do in the innate healing properties you have within your body. It’s your body. It’s your health. You have more control than you know. You are the doctor. You are the healer!
