1. Concerning thing I saw this week…
While on a flight to Austin this week, I picked up the magazine provided by United Airlines. After flipping through it, I noticed in the upper right hand corner of the cover it said this… “This magazine has been treated with an antimicrobial process.” I understand wiping things down between flights and being sanitary, but “treating” magazines. Not good! There is such a thing as too clean. It’s only a matter of time until we find out the hazards and adverse health effects of the toxic cleaning products and disinfectants being used. I had read a study about the chemicals used in schools being linked to infertility and other health problems. The overuse of antibiotics wipes out the healthy bacteria we NEED to be fully well. It also leads to the development of super bugs, for which we have no medication to defend against. It is important to be clean and sanitary, but there is such thing as too clean. And the chemicals we are using to be over-clean can be toxic and lead to a whole new set of problems.
2. Video I watched this week that was motivating…
I love Jim Rohn. He was a speaker, author, and success coach. Whenever I hear him speak, I am captivated by what he is saying. I’ve posted about him in the past. You can find so many video clips of him on YouTube. I encourage you to watch his stuff regularly. It WILL help you. Here is a video I watched this week that I liked a lot. It’s about problem solving. And guess what? We ALL have problems. He’s old-school (pre-internet), as you’ll see in this video. One key take-away is to work out the problem by writing it down on paper. There is something special about writing things out. Writing things down on paper does something that merely thinking about things does not. He states three steps to solve your problems. Check it out. It’s about 7 minutes long.
3. Something I did for self-improvement this week…
I took some time this week to think about some things that I have been talking about, and thinking about doing, but HAVE NOT DONE. There are things in our lives that we have wanted to do, things we have wanted to accomplish, places we have wanted go, people we have wanted to meet, etc. Well… time is ticking! What are we waiting for??? Take a moment, and think of something you have put off for a long time… and take some action steps to make that thing happen. Why wait another day?
