1. Wellness tip…
There are many “keys” to success when it comes to living the wellness lifestyle. One of the most impactful keys to being more consistent and more successful is preparation. If you fail to plan for your day or week, it is very, very hard to stay on track. Laying out supplements ahead of time, blocking off time to workout, and having healthy food ready to go will help tremendously. My daughter, Emma, sent me a pic this week of her fruit that she prepped for her week. I love that she does that! When your fruit and veggies are bought, washed, and easy to grab on the go, it makes life much easier. So… make sure you prep for each day and each week to help ensure healthier choices.
2. Great song (with video) I heard this week…
My buddy sent me the newly released, new version, of Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA.” (Thanks, Vin!) It sounds SOOOO good. And I love the way they did it, and the people they included. I have to say it moved me emotionally. Why? Probably because of the nagging feeling in my gut of how poorly things are going in our country right now. You can argue politics, science, personal beliefs and philosophies, but I have yet to find someone who deep down feels good about where we are at, and where we appear to be heading. The scariest thing for me is when 80, 85, 90, and 92-year-old patients of mine express grave concern about what they are seeing. It’s one thing for me to talk about what I feel based on my experience (I’m 49 years old), but these folks have been around for a LONG time, and have seen A LOT. Again, forget politics for a moment, and think about how you feel deep down? What does your gut tell you? We have incredible potential as a country. We can have everything we want, while helping everyone else get what they want. I truly believe that. And whether you are a Republican or Democrat, no matter what race you are, whether you are blue collar or white collar, and whether you are a man or woman… you are an AMERICAN! One of my favorite parts of that song… “And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free. And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me. And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend Her still today, cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land. God bless the USA.” (and… I’d gladly stand up NEXT TO YOU and defend Her still today!) Listen to that song and watch the video below.
3. Someone I am re-following again…
Earlier this week, I caught myself wondering why Dr. James Chestnut (out of Canada) hasn’t been speaking out regarding the science surrounding COVID and the vaccine. I love this guy and have learned so much from him over the years. I strongly value what he has to say because of his scientific background and incredible ability to break down the science. Turns out… he has been posting all along, I was just missing it. He posted a very well-written and investigative piece on Facebook on Sept. 1st. Here is the link to his Facebook page where you can find that post. As I keep saying, I am not trying to convince anyone of anything. I’m just sharing valuable, thought-provoking, and interesting information as I wade through this disaster of a pandemic. If your mind is not made up, and you believe emerging data and ongoing analysis is all part of the scientific process (which it is!), Dr. James Chestnut is one smart dude worth paying attention to. Find him here.
