1. Word I love…
I love the word congruent. Wellness, happiness, and true success will all involve congruence. Congruent is defined as “in agreement or harmony.” The big things in your life have to be in harmony. What you say should be congruent with what you do… the work you do should be congruent with what you feel called to do… all of your actions should be congruent with your beliefs and philosophy. When things are not congruent in your life, it shows up somewhere. In health and wellness, most of the sickness, disease, and suffering stems from us living a lifestyle that isincongruent with the way humans are supposed to live. When embarking on any project, experience, or relationship, I take a moment to see (and feel) if it is congruent with my beliefs, philosophy, purpose, and mission.
2. School lunches tip…
Packing school lunches has never been one of my favorite tasks. It would be easy to have them just buy lunch at school, but unfortunately the food offered at schools is not the healthiest. And my kids do not like it. So… I try to knock out the whole week at once, and get everything ready on Sundays. I try to include a veggie, fruit, some type of sandwich or wrap, and something sweet. My kids do okay with some bread, so the sandwich or wrap works. The sweet is usually a healthier version… such as organic chocolate covered almonds, Glutino chocolate wafers, or some cookie made with all natural, real ingredients. They are active, so the sugar in the fruit and sweet get burned off. Try getting creative, pack things they like, and make healthier choices. And if you can plan ahead, it will make it easier to refrain from relying on quicker, less healthy options. Here is a pic of fruit, veggies, and sweets for the remainder of my kids’ school week… all ready to grab and go in the mornings.

3. Great video clip…
My brother shared this video clip with me this week. Watch closely at the positions of this pole vaulter’s body at each stage as he plants the pole, comes off the ground, swings his feet completely over his head (crazy!!!), twists his body, extends his arms, lets go with his one arm, then bends his body at just the right time to clear the bar. I know nothing about pole vaulting technique, so this whole thing might not be too impressive to some of you, but I was amazed and impressed by the whole thing. You can watch the 1-minute video below.
