1. Concerning news I read this week…
In case you missed it… Walmart is being sued because the fish oil they sell in their stores (Spring Valley) does not contain ANY omega-3’s found in fish oil. According to the article I read (https://www.courthousenews.com/walmart-must-face-suit-over-deceptive-fish-oil-labeling/), “Walmart will have to face claims that its fish oil supplement is falsely labeled, and is actually made from fish waste that was chemically transformed using industrial solvents and ethanol…” Another case of deception and greed. If you read the article, you’ll see that the arguments Walmart’s lawyers make are ridiculous. When you buy “fish oil,” I think it is safe to say that you believe you are getting oil from a fish. Nope! Not with Walmart’s brand. Remember this! You need to buy products from reputable sources. Walmart does not start their meetings with “How can we improve the lives and health of our customers?” My guess is that the main gist of many big-box stores’ meetings revolves around “How do we make more money?” One way… mislead the public and be deceptive with what you sell. Every product we sell in our office is tested and tried by me first. Every product we sell is heavily vetted. Be careful with where you buy your health-related products. If you were buying Walmart’s fish oil and thought you were getting oil from a fish… you were getting oil “made from fish waste that was chemically transformed using industrial solvents and ethanol.” YIKES!
2. Positive thing that happened this week…
While at the Cleveland Triathlon (Rock-Roll-Run), Lana lost her Apple watch. She did not realize it was gone until returning home. And it had a brand-new band on it that she just got for her birthday. She was BUMMED! Later that night, her dad called and asked if she lost her watch. A woman found it, was able to find her dad’s phone number in it, called him, and told him that she had the watch. It was a woman in town visiting, walking near the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, that saw the watch laying in the grass. We are so grateful that she took the time to track us down to return the watch. I LOVE when people do THE RIGHT THING. With all the craziness going on in the world, we tend to overlook all the good going on. Small, but powerful acts of kindness, like this woman returning Lana’s watch, remind us (it reminded me) that people can be honest and good. Thank you, Rebecca!!! We are VERY grateful!
3. Great Instagram posts I came across…
My favorite restaurant, TownHall in Cleveland, has the best Instagram posts. I’ve shared some in the past, but here are a few more that are worth sharing…
