1. Olympic highlights that have caught my attention…
I have not been able to watch as much of the Olympics as I would have liked, but love seeing the highlights. The stats, pics, and video clips have been AWESOME! I recommend Googling “best pics from Paris Olympics” for some very cool pics. I posted my absolute favorite below, Brazilian surfer, Gabriel Medina, celebrating mid-air after a great run. I have also been awed by the table tennis clips that I’ve seen (worth checking out… so fast and precise), but the technical routine in synchronized swimming by the People’s Republic of China was crazy good. Few people can grasp the difficulty involved with what they are doing. See that video clip below. The video being dubbed as “the cutest Olympic moment” with Zhou Yaqin’s realizing that biting her medal is a thing, is a great moment. See that below as well. And a shout out to Cuban wrestler, Mijain Lopez, who became the FIRST Olympic athlete in ANY sport to win five (5) consecutive gold metals (08, 12, 16, 20, 24). An INCREDIBLE feat!!!
2. Story that I have thought about a lot over the past 40 years…
I read a story years ago about a pole vaulter in the 70’s or 80’s who, while standing on the podium receiving his gold medal, said that as he looked around the arena, he could not help but wonder… how many people in this crowd could have beat me at this Olympics had they just picked up a pole vault when they were younger? Interesting to think about, eh? How about you? What could you accomplish, and be extraordinary at, if you just tried it???
3. Video clip I saw this morning that got me thinking…
Not something that we haven’t heard many times before, but ALWAYS helps to be reminded. I’m going to work on being more conscious of this these next couple of days. Join me!
We GET TO work on improving our attitude and outlook!
