1. Great gift I got…
I had a birthday a couple of weeks ago and got some pretty cool gifts. Here is one of the coolest… The Thinker statue. We had one in our house growing up, and there is something about it that resonates with me. As humans, we tend to act without thinking about consequences, how our actions will affect others, or why we do what we do. According to Wikipedia, “The pose is one of deep thought and contemplation, and the statue is often used as an image to represent philosophy.” I love the statue, and this one is a modern version of it (Thanks, Lana!).
2. Interesting thing I saw a few weeks ago…
Lana and I were hiking a few weeks ago and came across a series of what looked like ropes. At first, we thought the park rangers had blocked off a certain area for some reason, but then realized it was a network of tubes collecting sap for maple syrup. Unlike anything I had ever seen before, these tubes were all interconnected, and set-up to run in a downward angle, and ending at a very large plastic container. This allowed the sap to be collected from many trees at one time, and collected in one location. Brilliant! And fascinating! I’ll post a couple pics so you can see what I am talking about. Pretty cool!
3. Wellness tip…
It’s an oldie, but a goodie, and I’ve posted it several times (but can’t say it enough)… take a moment RIGHT NOW, and think of three things you are grateful for. This might be the easiest and most powerful way to change your state, boost your mood, and turbo charge your immune system. Plus… we are SO GOOD at complaining, that it helps to periodically express gratitude. DO IT NOW! And don’t just state three things you are grateful for… really feel the gratitude. Feel your heart swell, your emotions bubble up, and really feel it. Do this every single day, at least once. I promise it will change your life. Oh… and I am TRULY grateful for you taking the time to read my posts, trusting me, and allowing me to share with you. Thank you! I am VERY grateful for YOU!
