1. Series I finished this week…
We watched the ninth and final episode of Masters of the Air (on Apple TV+), the series produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, about the 100th Bomb Group during World War II as the bomber crews run mission after mission into German-occupied Europe to destroy targets. It is VERY good! It elicited many emotions for me… mostly immeasurable respect for the bravery of the men involved. It is hard to believe what they had to do, that they actually did it, and how important what they did was to the freedoms that we get to experience today. We’ve all heard the saying about the men of that generation… “They don’t make them like they used to.” Well… a truer statement could not be said. I often question myself… if my grandfather put his life on the line to protect and preserve our freedoms, what am I willing to do to continue protecting our rights and freedom? To ALL the men AND women that have served our country, we need to honor their sacrifice to the highest degree. Watching Masters of the Air renewed the awe I have for the bravery of those who have fought for our country the way they have. While watching this, I had a myriad of emotions… awe, sadness, surprise, fear, excitement, sympathy, anger, pride, and more… with the end bringing on elation (and tear-filled eyes). One more emotion I couldn’t help but feel is embarrassment… at the thought of what these great men would think about what we have done and are doing with America. Masters of the Air is worth the watch. And they also released The Bloody 100th, a one-hour documentary essentially summarizing the nine-part miniseries. It contains interviews with the actual pilots and archival footage from that time. See both trailers below…
2. Two upsetting (and VERY concerning) things I saw this week…
The CDC would not release the findings of a longer-term study of myocarditis issues after the COVID-19 vaccination, but finally had to thanks to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. Documents released by government agencies will often have sensitive data, personal information, and intellectual property redacted so that information cannot be seen. Well… this document was 148 pages and EVERY SINGLE WORD in the document was redacted. Yep… 148 blank pages is what the CDC released. The faith and trust in organizations like the CDC and the FDA is completely gone. How will we ever know the true facts around this medical intervention that hundreds of millions of people participated in? I hope you agree that withholding scientific information of any kind, let alone something this serious, by our government agencies is unacceptable. Hear what Dr. Peter McCullough accurately says about this disgraceful act by the CDC in this 3-minute “X” (formerly Twitter) post…Click here.
And… Oprah did a special on weight loss drugs this week. I did not watch it yet, but did see and hear several clips from it. First… If you are still listening to Oprah in regards to weight loss, I’d reconsider. She has hyped up every diet she’s ever done (starting back in 1988 with a liquid diet!?!) and NONE of them have been successful long-term. Many have said her recent special was basically an infomercial for these new injectable drugs. I believe her latest advice will be the deadliest, as I have already heard numerous stories of serious side effects from these drugs. Like most medication, there is a subset of the population where the benefits will outweigh the risks, but I believe that a MAJORITY of people turning to these drugs will experience more harm than good. Like many drugs before (Vioxx, opioids, etc.), there will come a time when we will recognize the errors made, realize that there were monetary motives driving the hype, and many medical doctors will once again shrug their shoulders and say… “Oops, we were misled.”
3. Quote I read this week that I thought was pretty good…
“If you surround yourself with 10 people going nowhere, you’ll be the 11th one.”
