1. Something I am rethinking now…
On most days, I take a 10-15 minute nap. I fought it for years, thinking I shouldn’t need to, but it recharges me, clears my head, and boosts my mood. After feeling bad about taking these short snoozes, I now know that the science is clear how helpful and important a nap can be. I’ll elaborate on that science in a blog within the next couple of weeks. But simply put, a short afternoon nap improves reaction time, alertness, and performance. The key is making the nap not too short or too long. Roughly 10-20 minutes appears to be ideal. I love when science supports the things I love! Try taking a short nap this weekend… and don’t feel bad about it.
2. Healthy lunch idea…
We were scrambling for something to eat earlier this week and pulled together a very tasty, and healthy, meal. See the pic below… it is oven-roasted chicken breast slices, sliced peppers, cucumbers, pickles, avocado, tomato, some strips of cheese, and mustard, all on top of a cauliflower sandwich thin. There are small and large cauliflower sandwich thins, as well as almond flower wraps, we will often use instead of bread. And they are delicious! You can see in the pic that we added a hardboiled egg for additional protein.
3. New idea we had… and are kicking off tomorrow…
Dr. Michael Abood (the other doctor in our office) and I have realized that people have A LOT of questions when it comes to health and wellness. We also have realized that it is hard to find a trusted source, solid information, and a place where you are not constantly being sold something. We also know that the best information and learning comes in the form of personal, more intimate settings. Tomorrow we are kicking off our Walk and Talk With the Doc! Dr. Michael will lead a hike in the park, sharing the latest wellness insights and answering any questions you might have. He will be at Liberty Park in Twinsburg (9999 Liberty Road, Twinsburg, Ohio) at 9 a.m. and will lead a one-hour hike. This is tomorrow, Saturday (3/19/22) at 9 a.m. We are VERY excited to launch this new idea. How cool is it that you can learn about healthier living… while doing healthier living? Join Dr. Michael tomorrow for our first Walk and Talk With the Doc. Bring a friend!!!
