1. Another impressive Olympic experience…
Some Olympic events impress me more than others. The aerial freestyle skiers and mogul skiers are among the most impressive to me. You really can’t appreciate the magnitude of danger these men and women subject themselves to until you stand at the top of the in-run the skier takes to the ramp and think about them doing a quadruple twisting, triple backflip. Or ski down a mogul run like the ones they ski at the Olympics. I’ve witnessed both… and they are CRAZY to see. Anyway, you might have seen the mogul skier that veered off his line yet still managed to hit the last jump throwing an off-axis back flip, landing, almost crashing, but saving it, then crossing over the finish line backwards. WOW!!! Here is that skier’s quote after that… “Just gonna hold throttle ‘til I see God or the checkered flag.” – Andy Jankowiak. And see the post on x.com (formerly Twitter) with that video of that unbelievable run (worth watching!)…
2. Short video clip I saw this week… and LOVED…
I love quotes, video clips, stories, or anything at all that gets me to stop and think for a moment. As humans, we are terrible at finding happiness, feeling fulfilled, enjoying the little moments, or being truly grateful. A lot of what we see and hear is the same stuff repackaged, but this clip was new to me. I LOVED it! Check it out…
3. Recipe I’ve been using…
A key to optimal health is maintaining good blood sugar levels. When we consume lots of carbs and sugar, our blood sugar spikes… then plummets… leading to issues with fatigue, brain fog, moodiness, immune system issues, and fat accumulation. Lower sugar/carb meals are critical. Snacks and desserts tend to be the worst culprits. For years, we have been making fat bombs… which are delicious, sweet treats that are high in healthy fats. The ones we’ve been making lately are called Keto Chocolate Fat Bombs. They are easy to make, require no baking, contain only healthy ingredients… oh… and they don’t spike your blood sugar AT ALL! See the pic of our latest batch below. And click here for the recipe we’ve been using lately from a website called Cassidy’s Craveable Creations. The ingredients in these fat bombs are unsweetened almond butter, coconut oil, coconut flour, 100% (unsweetened) cocoa, xylitol or monkfruit, vanilla, and crushed nuts. They are DELICIOUS!!! There are plenty of fat bomb recipes out there, so if interested, find one that sounds good to you and give it a try.
