1. Great video clip I saw this week…
I saw a clip of a guy, Adam Allred, explaining health and healthcare in a quick, 2.5-minute clip that pretty much sums it up quite well. It’s not new info, it’s something you’ve heard me say many times, and you already know the info. But to hear it summed up like this is always a good reminder. Our healthcare system is broken… it isn’t going to get fixed any time soon… real change, real health, starts with you and your choices. I don’t follow Allred, but have seen several clips of his pop up, and the ones I’ve seen have been pretty good. Check out the video below…(Note: If you’re not on Instagram, you may still be able to view the video on your desktop or laptop computer – not mobile device – you’ll just close, meaning “X” out, of the login box that first appears.)
2. Quote I heard this week… and loved…
“The most interesting person in the room is the most interested person in the room.”
Not sure if this quote is tied to any one person, but it stuck with me. With so many distractions and so much self-absorption these days, active listening is becoming a lost art. I do a great job with active listening in the office with patients, and I am working on being better at it everywhere else. My wife, Lana, is VERY good at active listening, often walking away from conversations knowing everything about the other person, and them not knowing much about her. The holidays are a great time to lean in, pay attention, and REALLY listen to others.
3. Holiday gift suggestion…
I HIGHLY suggest making at least some of the gifts you give this holiday season health-related. Most people really enjoy getting gifts that improve their health. And there are gifts that fall in every price range. Some simple suggestions… neck, back, or foot massage tools, supplements, therapy balls, foam rollers, oil diffusers, therapy bands, high quality water bottles, gratitude journals, electrolyte drink packets, and gift cards for massage therapy, chiropractic, red light therapy, infrared sauna, acupuncture, personal trainers, and gyms. These are often things that people really want, but won’t buy for themselves. And not only do they get a great gift… they get improved health as well!
***Toys for Tots Success…***
Another incredible year for collecting toys for local needy families. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated to the cause. I am always amazed at what is possible when a group of people work together for a unified cause. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
