1. An inspiring video I saw this week…
Here is a short video of a guy sharing some wise, and inspiring, words using a story about a donkey that fell into a well. I’ve seen this guy share other life lessons, and he definitely is a good storyteller. Think about what he is saying. I LOVE the message!
2. Docuseries I watched this week…
We just finished Chimp Empire, the Netflix 4-part series about the Ngogo chimpanzee community in Uganda. It was fascinating. It explores the social politics, family dynamics, and territorial battles they engage in. My favorite exhibit, by far, when going to the zoo as a little kid was the monkey and chimpanzee encounters. I was intrigued. This series did several things… It opened my eyes to so much I did not know about chimpanzees, the complexity of the social dynamics blew my mind, and it left me with lots of questions. And the footage is incredible. It amazed me that they could capture so much on film. There is something special and powerful about learning so much more about any animal or species. The similarities and differences between us and any other animal gets my mind going. There are a few things that stood out as favorites for me in this docuseries, but I don’t want to spoil anything for you. But I do recommend it for sure. Watch the trailer below. And watch the clip about the making of it below that.
3. Word I love…
I love the word coherence. You’ll find several definitions, such as… logical interconnection, meaningful interconnections between distinct psychological entities, a clear relationship between parts, systematic or logical connection or consistency, and the quality of being logical and consistent. But my favorite is… the quality of forming a unified whole. Things are so good when they are in coherence. You feel it when it happens, and it really should be the goal in wellness, when your body and health, your relationships, your work, and all parts of your life resonate as a unified whole. We’ve all experienced incoherence, incongruity, disarray, and disorder. Not fun! We need to work toward creating coherence in our lives.
