1. Cool art I saw this week…
I saw a glass and bronze sculpture this week on the wall at University Hospital’s Ahuja facility. It is called Trust, and it is of two trapeze artists, one about to catch the other. I took a deeper dive into the artist, David Bennett. You can see a pic that I took of Trust below. And you can see more of Bennett’s creations at his website by clicking here. Here is a quote from Bennett about his work… “a new quality arose in my work: it has become more fluid. I think these new figures have the effect of not only capturing the dancers’ motion, but of infusing them with the motion of the glass. It is liquid and shimmering. The metal structures—rigid and formal in a way that glass alone can’t be—literally allow us to build a cage that holds glass shooting through the air. And the glass animates these formal structures with its fluidity: It’s like a photograph of water frozen for a second in the air. It’s an effect that I don’t think one could capture with any other medium.” Very cool art!
2. News story I found very odd this week…
NBC reported on the 16,000+ reports made to the CDC from people stating they began suffering with tinnitus, which is ringing, roaring, or buzzing in the ears, after the COVID vaccine. You have to watch the news story below… and note at the 25 second mark, when NBC’s medical reporter, Erica Edwards, says that, “The CDC said it analyzed all of those 16,000 reports and found absolutely no link between the COVID-19 vaccine and tinnitus.” Of course, they did! I’d love to see what kind of “analysis” they did on all 16,000 cases. Must be just another coincidence. How dumb do they think we are??? You can read more about my thoughts on this in this week’s blog, titled “We’re Not That Dumb… or Are We?” You can read that by clicking here. And see the news story below…
3. Quote I love…
“We have two lives; the second begins when we realize we only have one.”
