1. Emotions I was hit with this week…
There were two recurring emotions I kept feeling this week… empathy and gratitude. Last Saturday, at a wrestling tournament, with my hand on my chest and listening to the National Anthem, I couldn’t help but think that, as we were about to start a day full of competition, cheering, high-fives, hugs, laughs, and joy, there were Ukrainians, at that very moment, mourning the loss of many of their families and friends, hankering down with their families, trying to protect their children, scared to death, and likely feeling little hope. So, my mixed emotions were super strong empathy for the people of Ukraine… and immense gratitude for the life and freedoms we currently have. This weekend, let us be grateful for all that we have, enjoy the comforts and opportunities around us, and embrace the ones we love. And let us send love and prayers to the people of Ukraine, as they endure what you and I surely cannot comprehend. Check out this link here for “50 Of The Most Powerful Street Art Pieces In Support For Ukraine From All Around The World.” Here are a couple of my favorites…
2. Something that rocked me this week…
Someone had recommended that I type “largest criminal fine” into Google to see what pops up. I STRONGLY recommend you do the same. Do that now… type “largest criminal fine” into Google. Once you see what pops up, go to Violation Tracker by clicking here. Note the number of records (incidents) and total amount of penalties (And note that those penalties are in BILLIONS). Unbelievable! This should concern EVERYONE!
3. Quote I love…
“She stood in the storm, and when the wind did not blow her away, she adjusted her sails.”
-Elizabeth Edward
Life is loaded with storms. Some people get blown away. Some bear down, tighten their grip, and do not get blown away. And some use the power within the storm (adversity) to get to the next level, to grow, and to do great things.
