1. Craziest medical advice I heard this week…
Every day patients tell me about recommendations their medical doctor gave them that is absurd. Not only is it ineffective, but often, it is dangerous. I had one this week that is worth sharing. It was easier to make a video than write it all out, so check out the video below. And remember… I could post 4-5 of these types of videos EVERY day!!!
2. Quote I heard this week… and loved…
“I ask not for lighter burdens, but for broader shoulders.” – Jewish Proverb
At some point, we have to realize that no matter how hard we try to make life easier, it gets harder. We can try to make life easier (which is futile)… we can complain about how hard everything is… or we can build broader shoulders upon which to manage the increased burden.
3. Wellness tips…
I have two tips this week for you. First, GET OUTSIDE! Our much healthier ancestors spent approximately 85% of their time outdoors. We spend approximately 7% of our time outdoors. NOT GOOD! I don’t care what you do, try to do it outside. Exercise outdoors. Have a walking meeting with a coworker outside. Read a book, or watch your show, outside.
Second tip… make sure your smartphone is backed up. I recently dropped mine in a pool, and because it was cracked, I lost complete use of my phone. It was CRAZY! I was getting no texts or calls. I had no access to contacts or phone numbers. I could not access my email or other accounts because verification needed to be made through my BROKEN phone. Even two Apple employees told me that my data was lost for good. 😬 Thanks to our son, Jack, and Lana, I was able to recover all the data and get it transferred to a new phone. And a shout out to iRepair in Aurora. John, the owner, is the best. Super knowledgeable, super willing to help, and affordable. He helped me wipe the old phone clean before sending it back. Anyway… make sure your phone is backed up. I thought mine was.. and it wasn’t.
