1. A salute to our heroes…
Last Monday was Veteran’s Day. As I drove past the Aurora Cemetery, there were dozens of flags lining the driveways. It caught my attention and moved me to pull over. It got me thinking about my father, who was drafted, along with his three brothers, during the Vietnam War. I also thought about my grandfather, Paul Bizjak, who served and fought in World War 2. I then thought about all the men and women who have given their lives, or are currently risking their lives, for OUR freedom. Wow! The things we take for granted. I am very grateful for those serving, and for those who have served, in the U.S Armed Forces. Thank you!!! Here is a pic of that cemetery with those flags…

2. A little more on sleep…
Ten million people take some form of sleeping pill each month. That’s bad news! Sleeping pills do not correct the cause of the sleeping problem, allow the underlying, true cause to continue and get worse, leading to more pills and/or worse sleep. Not good! Here is a fact… the perfect sleeping temperature… 65 degrees.
3. Wellness tip…
With 2020 less than two months away, NOW is the time to start thinking about your New Year’s resolutions. Take a few minutes this weekend (right now would be even better!) to list a few goals for the new year. This will help you get some clarity on what you want to achieve, and will give you some time to prepare. Preparing means getting anything you might need to achieve those goals, gather information between now and then so you can hit the ground running, and, if it involves diet and/or exercise, you can start lightly now, so that you avoid having terrible soreness or difficulties trying to jump in full speed on January 1st. I will be setting my 2020 goals over these next two weeks.
