1. Quote I love…
“Well done is better than well said.” -Benjamin Franklin
The world is full of talkers. I like doers! We talk about change, but we don’t change. We talk about doing better, but we don’t do better. I love leaders, athletes, and human beings in general that silently achieve. They talk less and do more.
2. Something that concerned me this week…
Last Monday, I read that Pfizer received approval from the FDA to include children in their vaccine trials. Being that this is a vaccine like no other in history, and the adverse effects cannot be fully known for many years, I was shaken to think a parent would expose their twelve year old child to such risk. I discussed it with many, many patients this week to see what others were thinking. Not one single person thought that this was a good idea, and almost all felt it should be considered child endangerment. To say that this concerns me is an understatement. Of course, I would never tell you what to do in regards to issues like this, as it is out of my scope of practice, I just wanted to share my confusion and fear of the risk associated with this. Most agree that there are times in life when the risk offsets the potential reward, but because this age group is the least likely to experience complications from this virus, are the unknown risks of injecting an experimental shot into a child worth it? I guess that will be up to the parents. Gulp!
3. Video I liked this week (just for fun!)…
Halfway through writing my blog for this week, titled The Power of Yet, I jumped online and typed in those exact words. The first thing to pop up? This Sesame Street video. Turns out they made a song titled The Power of Yet. Check out my blog by clicking here, and check out the Sesame Street video by clicking here. I hadn’t seen, or even thought about, Sesame Street in many years. I could probably find a more powerful video clip about the power of Yet, but thought you’d be entertained and educated by this one. Enjoy!
