2. Interesting lesson I learned this week…
I heard billionaire investor, Ray Dalio, explain the changing world order… how countries rise and fall. I heard him on the Tony Robbins podcast, then watched a 45-minute video he created to breakdown the explanation in fairly simple terms. You can listen to the podcast by clicking here, watch the video (below), or both (which is what I did). The content is a little heavy, but I learned a lot. We can learn A LOT from history, as it may not always repeat itself, but definitely shows cycles and patterns. WARNING… it is interesting, thought-provoking, and important information… but NOT uplifting.
3. Great phrase I heard this week…
I had a patient who had two small fractures in her elbow. The emergency room doctor sent her out with the arm braced in a bent position, with her hand out in front of her. The orthopedic doctor that she followed up with the next day told her to remove the splint. He said she needed to keep the arm moving, or it would heel very tight with a restricted range of motion. He told her the motion is lotion. I LOVE THAT! Why? Because it’s true. The joints in our bodies must move in order to maintain full range of motion and to hydrate the joints… creating “lotion” in the joints. We are not meant to be sedentary, braced, or immobile. Get moving… because MOTION IS LOTION!!! (There are conditions and circumstances when bracing, casting, or immobilizing is appropriate, but as soon as that brace comes off, get moving.)
