1. Cool thing I saw this week…
We are seeing bald eagles more regularly on our lake. I know I posted a video of one a few months ago, but last week… INCREDIBLY…I saw SIX bald eagles together in a tree across the lake from our house. I was able to get the drone out and get some footage. I threw together a quick 1-minute video with some of that footage (far from professionally edited!). It’s neat to see these AMAZING birds! Thought I’d share it with you…
2. Documentary I watched this week…
I love documentaries, and we have several in our “watch list” on Netflix and Prime. We finally watched The Deepest Breath, about free diving, a form of underwater diving where no breathing apparatus is used, and the divers try to dive as deep as they can. I loved it because they did a really good job of telling the story and kept us guessing until the end… and because I LOVE having my mind blown by what the human body is capable of. Free divers are diving to depths of 300-400 feet or more. AMAZING! Scientists used to think death would occur anywhere below 200 feet. But this is super dangerous! In the words of one of the people interviewed in the documentary… “Extreme sports have extreme consequences.” The next documentary we will likely watch is called Hold Your Breath: The Ice Dive (also on Netflix), about a female attempting to break the world record for distance traveled under ice with one breath.😱 Watch both trailers (if interested) below…
3. Two quotes that got me to stop and think for a minute…
“It’s about who stands in the rain with you when they also have a choice to be dry.”
“We don’t let athletes bet on games they have the ability to influence. Why do we allow Congress to invest in companies they regulate?”
