1. Wellness gift ideas…
When trying to figure out that perfect gift for family or friends, consider healthy, wellness-oriented gifts. There are tons of options in our office, in local stores, or on Amazon, and still time to get them before Christmas. Most people would benefit from massage tools, foam rollers, therapy balls, ice packs, kettlebells, yoga mats, water bottles, essential oils diffusers, back supports, supplements, and more. (We have most of those available in our office as well). Also consider gift certificates to local spas, massage therapy, cryotherapy, personal trainers, gyms, etc… See my video message below for some of my favorite gift ideas.
2. Something that still has my head spinning…
I caught a headline about the defense bill that is waiting for Biden’s signature. The hot topic is that if he signs the bill, it will end the COVID vaccine mandate for military personnel. I’m baffled, as are many top doctors, scientists, and health experts, as to why we are still discussing mandates. We now know that the vaccines do not prevent someone from contracting the virus, and do not prevent the transmission of the virus. Take a moment to think about this (I mean really think about this)… there is no benefit to those around you if you get the shots. It may reduce the severity of your illness if you get infected, but has no impact or benefit for those around you. This seems like an absolute no-brainer… get the shot if you want it, do not get the shot if you do not want it. That whole “do it for the greater good” statement is false. We know that now. To mandate something that does not provide benefit for anyone other than the one taking the shots makes no sense. And medical experts that I have talked to that initially supported the mandates now agree that mandating the shots is unnecessary (and unethical… and unscientific). I know it’s still a touchy subject, but with new data should come new policies. The choice, as with all medical interventions, should be yours to make.
3. Thank you for helping us help others…
A BIG thank you to all those who donated toys to our 25th annual Toy for Tots drive. Like every year in the past, it was a HUGE success. We collected hundreds of really nice, neat, and fun toys. Thanks for helping us help local families have a better Christmas. We’ll do it again next year. See below pic of me with Dr. Michael and all the toys we collected this year.
