1. Habit I’m working on…
I like to keep things pretty clean, but it seems like it takes a lot of work. I realized it is because I don’t put stuff back after I use it. Things pile up… in my bedroom, on the counters, on my garage workbench, and in my truck… then I clean it all out, put things away, then start all over again. It dawned on me how much easier it would be, how much cleaner everything would be, and how less frustrated I would get, if I just put things back where they belong right after I use them. So… I’m trying to clear out my truck when I get out of it, hang clothes back up, instead of tossing them on the bathtub, and put tools away after I use them, instead of tossing them on the workbench. I have to remind myself that it is less work in the long-run, as it takes no more time to just put stuff back when I use it. I’m trying to eliminate one bad habit… and replace it with a much better one.
2. Product I love…
As we work to improve how we live as humans, many improvements appear to be really good, but sometimes we deviate from benefits that we did not realize were there. Let’s take pooping for instance. Humans used to squat fully when going #2. The advent of the toilet had tremendous benefits, but with knees being parallel to the ground, instead of above the hips, we lose a better angle for the digestive tract to eliminate fully and more easily. So one a product I love that helps alleviate this problem is the Squatty Potty. My family fought me on this for a while, but now they are all believers and lovers of this simple fix. While it may seem to be an odd gift, I have given it to many… with positive feedback and gratitude from those receiving it. Check out their very well-done commercial here. (It’s a must watch!!!) You can purchase one here.
3. Thoughts I’m having…
As another young, very health-conscious friend passes away from cancer, I revisited a recurring thought that Nixon declared “war on cancer” in the early 70’s. That is almost 50 years, billions and billions of dollars of research, the best and brightest doctors and scientists working on it, yet… cancer rates are STILL on the rise. Like most problems that go continually unsolved, the key is the direction you are going or where you are looking. There will be NO CURE for cancer… the solution is in prevention. With so many toxins in our food, the products we use, the water we drink, and the air we breathe, it isn’t until we address the CAUSE of cancer that we will see a reversal in cancer rates. If you are waiting for a so-called cure… think again. Start making smarter choices with your lifestyle and make better efforts to live and eat cleaner. More drugs, surgery, radiation, and even advances in genetics, will yield better treatment, but definitely NOT a cure. It doesn’t matter how much money we spend, how advanced technology gets, or how hard we work, if we are going in the wrong direction (which we have been in regards to cancer), we will NEVER get the results we are looking for.
