1. Quote I love…
“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” – Maya Angelou
2. Powerful word I just learned…
Ecocide… “Unlawful or wanton acts committed with knowledge that there is a substantial likelihood of severe and either widespread or long-term damage to the environment being caused by those acts.” A team of international lawyers have put out a new legal definition of “ecocide” that puts “environmental destruction on par with war crimes – paving the way for the prosecution of world leaders and corporate chiefs for the worst attacks on nature.” As the time to start caring for our planet becomes super critical, this move to make people and companies accountable for their reckless actions and blatant disregard was good to see. We’ve got a long way to go, but every long journey starts with the first steps.
3. Powerful, inspirational video I re-watched this week…
This video may be the most inspirational video out there. I’ve played this video at talks I’ve done, shared it will patients, and I’m sure I’ve posted it before on my Friday’s Findings. If you haven’t seen it, it’s a must watch. If you have seen it, it is so worth watching again (and again… and again). Don’t let it just make you feel good. Let it remind you of the incredible healing abilities of the human body and inspire you to tackle a challenge in your own life that you have been telling yourself is impossible. Enjoy the video! It’s one of my favorites.
