1. Powerful story that I heard this week (with a lesson)…
I had never heard of Jenna Kutcher before, but heard her speak at a virtual event that I watched this week (Day 1 of Own Your Future Challenge, with Tony Robbins and Dean Graziosi). She was good! She told a quick story that I loved and thought about many times since hearing it. Watch the video below to hear her tell that story. I do not follow her or know much about her, but I did take a quick look at her website. My guess is many of you (women) will like her. Her website is jennakutcher.com.
2. Quote I love…
The Dalai Lama XIV was asked what surprised him most about humanity. His response…
“Man! Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”
3. Someone I am following more…
One of the first books I read when trying to learn about intermittent fasting was The Complete Guide to Fasting, by Jason Fung, M.D. Dr. Fung is pretty much THE intermittent fasting expert. He has also written The Obesity Code: Unlocking the Secrets of Weight Loss, The Diabetes Code: Prevent and Reverse Type 2 Diabetes Naturally, and his newest book (which I will read soon), The Cancer Code: A Revolutionary New Understanding of a Medical Mystery. I got reacquainted with Dr. Fung in a recent podcast I listened to and really liked what he had to say… and how he said it. He is super smart, explains things in easy-to-understand terms, and isn’t extreme. Here is that podcast. I’d recommend checking out his YouTube channel (I subscribed to it). And here is his most recent post to that channel, How to Lose Weight (Analysis of Carbs). It’s almost 13 minutes long, but does a GREAT job of clarifying confusion around carbs.
