1. My recovery from Mt. Rainier…
Many have asked what I did to recover after my Mt. Rainier climb. Any physically, or even mentally challenging event causes you to be broken down, which then requires time and effort to recover. To cut the recovery time, I utilized just about everything I had access to. I used red light therapy (photobiomodulation), whole body cryotherapy, hot tub, infrared sauna, massage therapy, had chiropractic care (I had my spine, ankles, shoulders, and wrists adjusted.), and I drank hydrogen water (molecular hydrogen). I was able to jump right back into my normal schedule, seeing patients the day after returning, and seeing hundreds of patients that week. Physically, I was able to bounce back quite quickly. Mentally, I am still pondering and reflecting on that climb. Remember… life is physical, demanding, and ongoing… so incorporating biohacks (like the ones listed above) can help you perform better, heal faster, age slower, and feel better!
2. Quote I love… and try to remind myself of often…
“We suffer more often in imagination than in reality.” -Seneca
3. Wellness tip…
For some reason, I have seen numerous patients that have struggled with and even been hospitalized for dehydration. I believe most people could be more hydrated. Every bodily function is affected by your hydration levels… brain function, muscle performance, digestion, joint health, and skin and hair. Make SURE you get enough water throughout the day. Shoot for about half of your body weight in ounces of water per day. So, a 200-pound person should be drinking at least 100 ounces of water per day. This is one of the EASIEST things to do to ensure better health. Carrying a bottle with you throughout the day is critical. And I used to buy a bottle of water at the airport when traveling, but now, I take an empty bottle through TSA and fill it up once through. DRINK MORE WATER!
***Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers!***
My mother is AWESOME… and has played a HUGE role in me being who I am. Mothers are often underappreciated. And I noticed that moms of young boys tend to take things very personally… thinking that their son’s idiotic behavior is because of mistakes they have made as a mother. Rest assured… we do dumb things because that is how we are wired… we act like fools… you are doing a FANTASTIC job!!! Happy Mother’s Day! You ALL deserve at least this special day.
