- Inspiring people…
Tiger Woods…. Winning The Masters… again… 14 years after his last win there! Wow! It’s so inspiring to see something as remarkable as that. He makes it look easy, but what most can never realize is how much effort, sacrifice, and mental toughness goes into a comeback like that. To overcome the odds, ignore the critics, and continue to believe in yourself the way Tiger did is amazing. I love seeing people do things that others think can’t be done. I was moved by his victory last Sunday. And I think there are lessons to be learned here… Never give up…Ignore your critics… And commit to excellence! No matter where you are in life right now, think about what kind of comeback YOU can have.
2. Quote…
“We must all suffer from one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. Discipline weighs ounces–regret weighs tons.” -Jim Rohn
Most of the time, we have regrets. It’s because we failed to put in the time, do the work, and make the sacrifices that were required to get the results we actually desired. Sure there’s pain in living a disciplined life, but as Jim Rohn says in this quote, that pain is miniscule compared to the pain of regret. We think of it as a victory when we avoid pain now. Start thinking of the hard work, sacrifice, and dedication you put in now as an investment in getting what you want and need long-term, rather than pain.
3. Nutrition tip…
I have a rule that I eat salads for lunch. That is the one meal that I have the most control over, so I try to make that one a healthy one. It makes life easy… when I am out to lunch I do not even look at the rest of the menu. I go right to the salads… every time. It gives me the nutrition I need, I don’t go into that food coma in the afternoon that hits after a carb-heavy meal, and I don’t leave lunch wishing I would have made a healthier choice. And if I don’t see a salad that I really like, I ask the server to add what I want (always avocado if they have it), and remove what I don’t like (blue cheese, black olives, etc.). I don’t sacrifice taste and always leave full.
