1. What’s Wrong With That?…
Patients are given treatment options by their medical doctor. They are often told those are their only options. What the doctor should say is that those are the only options that they have for them. Surely there are many other options. In fact, there are usually dozens of options when it comes to dealing with health-related problems. No healthcare professional has all the answers, so do not accept their recommendations as your only options. And remember that “these are your only options” really means “these are the only options I have for you.”
2. Mistake I Made…
Years ago, I was a fan of egg whites and avoided egg yolks. I somehow got sucked into the idea that the most beneficial part of the egg was the white, not the yolk. I would make scrambles with six egg whites and one yolk. I knew the yolk contained nutrients, therefore I included the one. Now that I know better, I eat a three to four egg scramble, and include the entire egg. Egg yolks contain vitamins A, D, E, and K, healthy fats, amino acids and antioxidants. They actually reduce risk for heart disease, and the cholesterol in the yolk does not impact your blood cholesterol. They are extremely nutritious. The bottom line is that eggs and egg yolks got a bad rap for years, but now I am certain that they are not only not bad for me, but very good for me. I strongly recommend eating the whole egg (unless you are allergic). If interested, you can read more on the benefits of eggs from Dr. Joe Mercola at Mercola.com here.
3. Quote I Love…
“In life, the hardest things and the right things are often the same things.”
Life isn’t always easy. When faced with tough decisions it isn’t always easy to make the right decision, but when choosing the easy way over the right way, things usually don’t end well. It may seem better in the short term, but long term, we end up with regret. At the end of the day, when you look yourself in the mirror, there is nothing better than knowing that you gave everything you had that day and lived congruently with your beliefs and philosophies.
