1. Shout out to Veterans…
With Veterans Day this Monday, I want to take this moment to give a big THANK YOU to all veterans. I think there is no greater contribution one can give to our country than to put their life on the line in serving our country. We recently were in Kentucky and ate at a restaurant called Mission BBQ, which is all about veterans. According to their website… “As the founders of MISSION BBQ, we strive every day to remind everyone what makes Our Country great—its heroes.” The walls are loaded with photographs, medals, letters, and other military paraphernalia. Every day at noon, they play the national anthem. We were fortunate enough to be there at that time, getting to stand with the other patrons and workers, and honor our country and veterans. It was very cool! Two things that stood out to me on the walls were the Soldier’s Creed and this quote… “If you knew you couldn’t play tomorrow, how hard would you play today?” Happy Veterans Day, and THANK YOU for your service! We appreciate YOU!!! See pics of the Soldier’s Creed and that quote below…
2. Really good article I read this week…
Nobody really knows what another person is actually going through when it comes to certain health issues. And while intentions may be good, what we say to others may not land well. I thought this article was VERY well written… and has some great insight for those not sure how to act, what to say, or how to respond to family, friends, and others struggling with a particular health issue. I think it’s worth the read. (Thanks, Bev B., for sending that article!)
3. Something I am excited about (and should excite many)…
The election made a lot of people very happy… and a lot of people very upset. Something that could have a huge impact on the trajectory of the health of Americans is Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s involvement. I’ve been watching RFK, Jr. for years and strongly feel he is someone that can, and will, make an impact. He is a lawyer, he litigates, and he knows how to get things done in this arena. Of course, the mainstream media is immediately trying to tear him down. And as with most other things in today’s media, misinformation is rampant. I can say this… our healthcare system is in shambles. It is corrupt. The U.S. is terribly sick… the pharmaceutical companies are loading Americans with more and more drugs… the government agencies are corrupt and pathetic… and American children are the sickest they’ve ever been. Radical change is absolutely necessary. Obviously, there are no guarantees, the future is impossible to predict, but I am excited to see what RFK, Jr. does over these coming years. The path we are on right now is literally leading us to extinction as a species (sounds crazy, but it’s true!). If you are aware of the upsetting stats in regards to the chronic illness and disease rates in the U.S., then I would have to assume that you are excited about the idea of change. If you don’t like RFK, Jr., or think he’s crazy, I ask that we give him a chance. I believe he will do the things needed to Make America Healthy Again.
