1. Something I started doing…
Oral health is closely tied to overall health. We know that we MUST take care of our teeth, gums, and tongue. For the past few weeks, I have been oil pulling, which is swishing about a teaspoon of coconut oil (or sesame oil) around the mouth for 10-15 minutes, then spitting it out. It is said to pull toxins from the mouth, gums, and tongue. What I know for sure is that coconut oil is anti-microbial… containing anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-viral properties. I do it daily now, but will go to three days per week eventually. I do this prior to brushing, flossing, and tongue scraping. It’s easy, inexpensive, certainly has some upside, and has no downside. So… that’s the newest thing I’ve added and am experimenting with. See the 2-minute video below where I share my oil pulling info…
2. Great post I saw this week on certainty…
I saw a great clip from author Robert Greene on certainty and how our need for certainty is NOT GOOD. He says that “the need for certainty is the greatest weakness humans have.” It stifles creativity. Our need for certainty is a kind of defense mechanism to simplify complex dynamics to give us the feeling of understanding and knowing. The world is mysterious… and some uncertainty is healthy. Watch the 1.5 minute video below. He eloquently explains it in a way that I can’t. Also… you can read the blog I wrote this week on certainty and uncertainty by clicking here.
3. Halloween fun…
I saw this clip of senior citizens having a Halloween party. Some clever, funny costumes… made funnier because of the people wearing them. It’s worth the watch. Made me laugh. Happy Halloween!!!👻🎃💀
