1. Best dad? Or Worst dad? You decide…
I took my daughter skydiving last weekend for her 18th birthday. I’ve gotten mixed responses… some saying that it was an awesome idea… and some thinking I was nuts for doing that. The bottom line is that the wellness lifestyle is about living fully. Personally, I never want to be lying on my deathbed with regret, wishing I had done or said things that I didn’t do or say. I never ever want to say, “I wish I would have…” We both got to face fear, overcome it, and experience something incredible. Experiences like this, I expect and hope, will trickle into other areas of my kids’ lives so that they never get robbed by the twin thieves… fear and regret. A special thanks to Aerohio, in Rittman, Ohio, a super professional skydiving outfit (https://www.aerohio.com/). And to my good buddy, Matt McClone, my skydiving instructor and adventure enthusiast, for helping to get that special day all set up. Think about something you’ve been wanting to do, but have been held back by doubt and/or fear… then GO DO IT!

2. Article I read…
Our healthcare system is pathetic. Doctors continue doing procedures, prescribing drugs, and making recommendations, even when the latest science has proven those procedures, drugs, or recommendations are useless… or worse… cause harm! Make sure you ask a lot of questions, do your own research, and always get a second, third, or even fourth opinion. This article is an eye opener. I suggest reading the whole article, but at least read the first several paragraphs to get the gist of what you need to be thinking about in regards to taking medical advice.
3. Something I love…
I attended a couple of high school graduations this past week. I love that we recited the Pledge of Allegiance. As I put my hand over my chest to recite it, I had a couple thoughts. The first was the memory of being a Boy Scout when I was younger. The other thought was how much I love the words in that pledge… “I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” I love the whole thing, but was particularly drawn to the words “one Nation,” and “indivisible.” As the political arena continues to heat up and divide us, we must remember we are, in fact, one Nation, and if we are to remain a country that can lead, support, and retain our freedoms, we must remain indivisible. And I really loved that the words “under God” were still spoken at these events.
