1. Something I get to check off my bucket list…
I love snow skiing. I’ve done some hardcore skiing in the past, in the back-country, through unmarked terrain, but it required hiking in, then skiing down. For as long as I can remember, I wanted to go heli-skiing, where a helicopter carries you to the top of a peak, drops you off, and you ski down. Well… last weekend, I was able to do just that. My son, Kyle, and I and a long-time buddy, Dr. Vince Hassel, headed to Whistler, Canada, and spent the day heli-skiing. It was incredible! We loved everything about it… getting in and out of the helicopter, the views out of the helicopter, the serenity while at the peak after the helicopter left, and there was silence, and, of course, the deep, untouched powder that we got to ski. It was so fun to be out there watching my son on his snowboard, carving through the powder, catching air when he could, and telling me “it was better than I expected.” I share this because wellness is far greater than the food we eat, the exercises we do, and how fit we are. It all comes down to living fully, being able to do what we love, pushing ourselves, and surprising ourselves by doing things that we thought we could only dream of. I remember telling myself when I was younger that “someday” I will go heli-skiing. Well… that “someday” was last Saturday. SO MUCH FUN!

2. A few words on the coronavirus…
Remember this… those with compromised immune systems are the most likely to get the virus, the most likely to have complications from it, and to possibly die from it. Which means… those with the strongest immune systems are LEAST likely to have problems with the virus. So… THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU CAN DO… strengthen your immune system!!! Four things that will help… (1.) Take 5,000-7,000 I.U. of vitamin D daily; (2.) Get plenty of rest; (3.) Exercise daily (20 minute walks are perfect); and (4.) Cut down on your sugar intake. Your most powerful defense against coronavirus (or any virus for that matter) is within you. You have thousands of white blood cells that specifically seek out and kill viruses, bacteria, and other invaders. Click here to watch this SUPER COOL video of a white blood cell chasing down bacteria, engulfing it, and killing it. The four tips above will help those cells work better!
3. Movie I re-watched…
I re-watched Win Win, which was written and directed by Tom McCarthy, and stars Paul Giamatti. It has a great storyline, neat characters, and many relatable scenes. Feelings fluctuate between humor, sadness, compassion, anticipation, and joy. I love the scene/lines (which is the opening scene in the trailer)… when the little girl climbs in bed with the mother and asks, “Where’s daddy?” She says, “He’s running.” The little girl pauses and thinks, then asks… “From what?” Watch the trailer below.
